Hi, I was wondering if any of you Las Cruces/El Paso local players played woodsball/scenario ball out by the water tower east of New Mexico State University? It's not an 'official' field per se, but there are lanes out there that we use for New Mexico State Univ. Army ROTC. They have sand tables and everything out there, which you could probably get away with using.
It's a HUGE area, one would have to define boundaries, but we're talking about a viable area the size of seven or eight football fields. **Note** I am in no way an authority figure. The only reason that I know people occasionally play up there is because New Mexico State University Army ROTC does drills up there with basic BT-4/ Tippmann 98 C guns every Thursday. As far as I know people are allowed to be up there and use the land owned by the university, as long as they aren't hurting anything. People go running up there, buddies of mine go mess around up there on the trails (people go 4WDing, dirtbiking, etc up there.) If people are doing activities like that there, then I imagine woodsball would be alright. If any of you are interested in playing up there, or want me to come play with you at Taylor Road, please shoot me a PM so I can give you my phone number. I have a decent gun that I never get to use, aside from shooting the occasional tree, or the other random uses I have found for it. Thanks. Jordan Parey. |

sorry for the double post, but this area would be PERFECT for you milsim guys out there- it's sandy, rough on the hands and knees, but the terrain is a lot of fun. Low bushes like mesquite and creosote break up paintballs well, there are occasionally rock formations..lots of hills and ridges to set ambushes up, HUGE amounts of space to play. Trails, washes, ravines. Cacti (lol.)
Just saying. There's even the occasional structure out there that ROTC has set up in order to do specific drills (take out a bunker) but I am pretty sure they deconstruct these after they are done. (That's not to say that structures couldn't be hastily assembled, just for giggles.) |
