I haved been disatisfied with my remote co2 tank carrier and pod pack and have been in the market for a different system. After crusing the internet I stumbled on the Dagger Vest from Special Ops. I had some reservations 1. the cost $119, plus do I really need a vest. (I do not carry a lot of gear (pods and co2 tank and perhaps a grenade or power bar.) However I cannot stand it when I get snagged by branches or my gear belt bounces and jostles around when I run. Furthermore I was warry of a vest due to the heat we can get in NM and adding a vest would just increase the heat and discomfort
I broke down and bought one because during a game my co2 tank tumbled out and cost me some time and a good shot.
When it arrived I tried it on immediatly and found it to be very easy to adjust to my frame. (The vest is a one size fits all) it seemed to be constructed very well almost over-built.
I used the vest for the first time a week ago at Oak Flats. The vest carried 4 full pods and a 20 oz tank with ease and tight to my back. I was very surprised at how well the vest carried the weight and I have no doubt that it would carry more equally as well. There is a large velcro cumberbund sort of belly band that helps snug the vest tight to the body. The place to store the co2 tank is VERY secure and it carries the tank as well as the pods high enough on my back so I do not feel it on my lumbar.
The vest is snug to my back so there is no bouncing while running and it is no wider than my back , thus it does not get snagged on bushes or branches. I dropped a full pod when trying to relode, but I think that was pilot error as opposed to a design flaw. The pods sit vertically and drop out so this will take some adjusting on my part.
The day I used it was a hot and actually humid day and I did not notice any adding discomfort from the vest thank god.
The best part of this vest was that I did not feel hampered by my gear. The vest allowed my to run ( if you can call what I do running) and move about with ease and comfort. The dagger is very well made and is a low profile minamalist vest. It is not hot to wear yet it is still sturdy enough to carry certainly more gear than I can forsee using at this time.
I am pleased I bought this vest.
