Holy Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you guys chronoing or are those hits on bare skin??

You can actually tell where the paint escaped the shell. For example, if you look at Phil's ring of pain on his bicep the bruising on the bottom is obviously where the paint landed. The ring itself is from the shell. Anyways, looks you fellas had a good time. Nice pics. :)

PS...I'm ready to play again. Look forward to meeting all the new guys.

PSS...From the pics I notice only one barrel plug while in camp. This has to change. Safety first gents. I don't want to be standing in camp and accidently get my eye shot out because someone thought the safety was on or the marker didnt have anymore air or the marker was thought to be out of ammo. I'm not preaching and I'm sure everyone has safety in mind but the only way to be 100% sure is everyone needs a plug or a barrel condom.

Look forward to running with you gents soon. :)

The very top pic is my brother's shin

We had two chrono's working out there and I communicated to everyone about keeping it under 300 (280 avg). One guy just diddn't listen and after three people came up to me and complained we MADE him chrono. He pinged the chrono at 370-390. I was so pissed I could cry. Make me feel bad that that crap happens under your watch, so to Phil and my brother (and to the first guy who got one on the arm) I apologize and WILL watch that.

I gave the long winded safety speech and reminded people all day on the barrel/mask safety as well. I just can't watch 40+ people at one time. Still I was the host and I will take the heat on it and try to beef it up more. I will desinate 3-4 people I trust to be "safety officiers" to help me out.

All in all it was a good event and I will be posting pics I have ASAP. I have like 40 pics in all and will post all of the good ones.

heh, about 2 inches around that shot now its all blue and nasty but for whatever reason when I got hit it didn't hurt. Hope Chris is feeling better. And ya, the safety zone was anything but safe, I wore my goggles the whole time. I had 3 different guns pointed at me with no condom and their safeties weren't even on! and Goose I'm stoked that yer going to play again! Thanks Thunderclese for the pics.

Yea that was pretty much a bunch of b.s. that he was shooting so hot that i couldnt belive he wasnt chopping balls left and right under the pressue. Oh well it is outlaw and that is the fun of it but damm dude come on that was a little extreme, i wonder what he was really shooting at when you guys got hit before he turned it down and then got chronoed and turned it down some more. Well all and all i think everybody finally got on the same page and we had a ton of fun so ill have to meat up with you guys again in the future.

Oh to whoever was shooting that orange paint on the first couple games I took that shot from you right to the groin and it was brutal. If you were an inch to the left i would have been screaming like a little girl for a month.
lucky me im skinny. ha

There are some but the distance to make people out was bad. So I choose not to post them. Monte did not "get up" into the firefight to take action shots. He knows how to do that now. He was new to it so don't give him a hard time---:D

Along the lines of Ben's gun:

You really can't blaime him for a hot gun for a couple of reasons.

1. Chronoing was not required for all new arrivals. Case in point is both Ben and his group and me and my brother-in-law. Neither group was chronoed. I could have easily been the one shooting hot.

2. This is OUTLAW paintball. Often times that means an excuse to turn up velocity. Sooo many people do it, that if you don't turn up you may be at a disadvantage.

3. Thirdly, Ben had no problems turning down his velocity when he did chrono or after the complaints.

If I had any complaints about Ben, it would be that D*** gillie suit. Gillie's are notoriuos for padding ball breaks. At the same time there are/ were no rules regarding padding, so all is fair!

In general Masks are rated for 300FPS impacts. Above that and the risk of a lens shattering increases greatly. To make matters worse, lenses should be changed yearly and too many people skimp on this expense. And I hate to think what a 370 ball at close range would do to a larynx.

And just because someone else is shooting hot does not mean you have to. Beavertown has lots of cover. Use it. I know a few of us have the mini chrono's. Its a small price to pay compared to the loss of an eye (or worse.)

I hope things shape up down there. And damn I wish I could get down there to play! Seems like everytime I drive down for a game, 3 people show up! :)

I had already talked to Ben about this but I should have also mentioned it here on the forums. Ben learned a lesson and so did the rest of us, Ben learned that he needs to take personal responsibility for chrono'ing his marker under 300 and we learned that we do indeed need to vocalize and enforce the safety rules, such as chrono'ing, more effectively.

And Kino brought up another important rule that I had totally forgot about...ghillie suits. If a player is wearing a ghillie suit then the quarter size mark of paint does not apply to them. Ghillie suits are required to play by the 'Honor Rule' which is ANY paintball that even touches them, no matter how hard, is an elimation, no break required. So for Ben, and the rest of us with ghillie suits, that is the rule we play by which comes from the official scenario games rule book.

I don't want anyone to misunderstand my previous post, I DO NOT condone the use of higher velocities. I was merely offering up what I felt could be his arguements. I agree we have a responsibility to maintain our own equipment. I can also tell if I am approaching 300 based on the sound of the discharge, the velocity the ball strikes and the distance a ball flies level. Even without a chrono I can tell you that I had a "safe" rate of velocity last Sunday. I just hate to see someone vilified for velocity.
