Smart Parts Temporary Closure

Smart Parts Inc., undergoes temporary closure for restructuring during the month of January 2010.

Loyalhanna, PA – January 6, 2009 – Paintball manufacturer Smart Parts, Inc. is temporarily shutting down all manufacturing and sale operations in order to facilitate a corporate restructuring. During this time, the company will not be able accept or process orders, ship or receive products or perform repairs. The restructuring process is expected to be completed by the end of January 2010.

“It is important that people do not send equipment in for service during this time,” said company Vice President, Adam Gardner. “Our buildings will not be staffed during the restructuring, so there will be no one there to receive packages. They will automatically be refused and returned to the sender.

“To the players, field owners and store owners, please know that we appreciate your support and are looking forward to a fresh start for the 2010 paintball season. We apologize for any inconvenience this short closure may cause, and hope to make it up to you in the future.”

Smart Parts, Inc., is a leading developer and manufacturer of equipment and accessories for the sport of paintball.

***The 2009 in the article was a mistake, it is indeed meant to say 2010

well you would be surprised how close SP actually is to going down the drain man. Basically from all the patent lawsuites they have been having, they got into serious financial trouble. That combined with a huge loan they took out from the bank, kind of screwed them when the bank decided to come collect. At one point, they had massive layoffs, with a "skeleton crew" running the most essential things. The bank got an offer from one guy to buy the company, who's name I forget right now. I believe he was involved in the old PB company Diablo. The bank turned him down based on his history of running PB companies into the ground. The bank then was actually very close to forclosing on SP and selling off their assets. Now, rather recently, another guy has come along, who has dealt successfully with this bank before. He made an offer to buy the company, and it is looking good that the bank will sell to him. So yes, there seems to be a glimmer of hope for SP, but they aren't out of the shit yet.

Oh, and on a side-note some bad things are going on over at JT, too. PB is not doing well right now... The companies need all the help we can give them.
